UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA DENGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) PADA POKOK BAHASAN LINGKARAN DI KELAS XI B SISWA SMK S PANCA DHARMA PADANGSIDIMPUAN

Abstract


In this study, the problem presented is the low motivation to learn mathematics students of class XI SMK S Panca Dharma Padangsidimpuan on the subject of the circle. Students are less serious in learning. This is due to the lack of a suitable learning model with the material presented. Given the importance of the quality of education and responding to problems faced by students, then as an effort to improve student learning motivation, researchers use cooperative learning model Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT). This study aims to improve Student Motivation learning Mathematics Students on the subject of Circle in class XI SMK S Panca Dharma Padangsidimpuan.

This research is related to motivation where the motivation indicator is: Attention is the students who focus on the mathematics lesson, the tenet is the students trying to answer the problem, diligently the students are active in answering the question, interested are the students active in geams and courage that is brave students in answering the question .

This study is a Classroom Action research consisting of two cycles and each consisting of four main activities: planning, action, observation, and reflection in one interconnected spiral. The subjects of this study are students of class XIB Accounting SMK S Panca Dharma Padangsidimpuan which amounted to 32 people. Instrument Data collection in the form of questionnaire. Questionnaire is used as a measure of learning motivation of the subject of the circle.

The results of this study can be seen from the observation and questionnaire. Student learning motivation of subject of circle has increased from cycle I to cycle II. Aspects of attention cycle I meeting I 18.75%, meeting II 56.25% in cycle II 81.25%. Aspects of tenacity cycle I meeting I 12.50%, meeting II 50%, cycle II 75%. Aspects of diligent cycle I meeting 25%, at the second meeting 56.25%, cycle II 87.5%. Aspects of interest cycle I meeting I 6.25%, meeting II 43.75%, Cycle II 75%. Aspects of courage cycle I meeting I 18.75%, and cycle I second women 56.25% cycle II 81.25%. The result of questionnaire motivation I meeting cycle I 50.42%, Cycle I meeting II 80.42% and increase in cycle II 92.92%. It can be concluded that the type of cooperative learning Teams Games Tournament (TGT) may increase the motivation to learn in class XI student of SMK B S Panca Dharma Padangsidimpuan on the subject of the circle.
