Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed the world's population in unprecedented global health and economic vulnerability. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed the world's population in unprecedented global health and economic vulnerability. The tourism sector is one of the most affected by the pandemic. Halal tourism, which is friendly for Muslim tourists, also experiences the same impact. This study aims to determine development maps and trends in halal tourism published by Scopus-indexed journals with the theme of halal tourism. The data analyzed were 96 publications of document publications. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the R Biblioshiny application program to determine the bibliometric map for the development of halal tourism research. The study results show that the number of publications with the theme of halal tourism has increased significantly. The results show that the most popular journal is the Journal of Islamic Marketing, the most famous author is Han H and the most popular in Malaysia. The most popular keyword topics are halal tourism, halal, Muslim tourism, halal food, and Islamic tourism. This study found that to survive the black swan event, the halal tourism industry must choose a clear market segment and apply Muslim-friendly hospitality services and halal certification to build satisfaction and place attachment in halal tourist destinations.
